Some months ago, I started doing this research on famous musicians (mostly singers) charts. My initial goal was to see how Jaimini principles apply, and boy, do they apply :) ![]() To be clear - I learned these techniques as deciphered and taught by Ernst Wilhelm, using tropical Rasis. About two weeks ago, my friend and wonderful card reader & jyotishi Nicole Brenny invited me on her channel to talk a bit about that, and when the video is out, I’ll be linking it here. So after seeing with my own eyes about the Jaimini techniques being accurate, I thought I’d find some patterns with the Cards of Truth system- a birth card system developed by Ernst Wilhelm starting from an ancient card spread and combining it with astrological principles. There are other card systems out there, but this is the only one I frequently use. It's so incredibly catchy and accurate, I couldn't resist :) The cards system assigns a birth card for each day of the year. You need to pay attention to the fact that if you are born before sunrise, the birth card of the previous day will be the one applying. That being said, a birth card that shows up very often for musicians is 10 of Clubs. If we take 10 as the beginning of a new cycle, and Clubs as inspiration, a 10 of Club person playing their cards right will have a lot of amazing contributions to bring to the world. In a year, assuming there is an equal amount of people born every day, this card comes up 12 times, so 3.28% of the time. In my research sheet of currently 228 musicians, this card shows up 10 times, so 4.41% of the time. I guess you’ll have to stick around to see how the percentage changes once I reach my target research number of 366 musicians :) Moving on from the geekiness :) How can you tell if you’re a 10 of Clubs? Well, if you are born on January 30, February 28, March 26, April 24, May 22, June 20, July 18, August 16, September 14, October 12, November 10, December 8 - AFTER sunrise, or one day after those dates BEFORE sunrise, then consider yourself lucky, you are a 10 of Clubs :) Most of the researched 10 of Clubs musicians need no introduction, but the more locally-known ones got a few words: Amy Winehouse - 14 September, after sunrise Lana del Rey - 21 June, before sunrise Diana Ross - 26 March, after sunrise Jim Morrison - 8 December, after sunrise Madonna - 16 August, after sunrise Justin Bieber - 1 March, before sunrise Kesha - 1 March, before sunrise Donny Osmond - perhaps the most loved of the musical Osmond family - 9 December, before sunrise Nana Mouskuri - Greek singer, sang in 10 different languages, also involved in politics and a humanitarian, very famous (not only but mostly) in Europe - 13 October, before sunrise Gallo Nunzio - Italian singer, placed 6th in the Eurovision song contest many decades ago, also an actor - 26 March, after sunrise. So looking at their 9th divisional chart, I noticed their Soul planet - Atmakaraka- is in: Taurus - 3 times - Madonna, Justin Bieber, Donny Osmond Gemini - 2 - Diana Ross and Lana del Rey Sagittarius - 2 - Jim Morrisson and Nana Mouskouri Aries - 1- Gallo Nunzio Libra - 1- Amy Winehouse Pisces - 1 - Kesha Jaimini links Taurus Swamsha to material stability, Gemini to fame after death (among other things), Sagittarius to falling from a height (but in order to do that one has to reach the height first, right?), Libra is simply ‘trade’, Pisces is related to the ending of a cycle and for Aries it’s very challenging not to always get distracted by small problems. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why the Aries Swamsha person is the least known of the above group. Lana del Rey in concert - photo credit Nick Pickles/Getty If we look at what Graha acts as their soul planet, we see Jupiter 4 times, Mars 4 times, Sun once, Venus once. This is pretty uneven, but looking at the 228 musicians included in the study, there is not one Graha coming up a disproportionate amount of times as Atmakaraka. So the conclusion would just be - most famous musicians that are a 10 of Clubs birth card have their Soul planet either Jupiter or Mars. Jupiter is the Guru, who doesn’t talk a lot but when he does, it’s something heavy with knowledge. Mars is the General, the strategist who will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Now here's something more specific: if we look at their birth card spreads, we see that the 10th cusp relating to career is mostly placed in the Ace of Clubs (6 times), then in the 5 of Clubs (twice) and in the 3 of Hearts (also twice). Club cards are the obvious dominant, of them following their ideas and inspirations - the Aces of course always provide a source of new and fresh content, while the 5s show a change of approach. Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey are the two musicians with the 10th cusp on a 5 of Clubs, and they both achieved commercial success after a pretty radical change of their public image. Lana del Rey changed her name and her appearance, Amy Winehouse shifted from a Jazz sound to a more 50-60s girl-group-inspired sound (with her appearance also being altered accordingly), and then she got wide international recognition. Also important to notice is that the Ace of Clubs is the Mercury card that provides skill and adaptability. The 5 of Clubs is the Saturn card and it points to slow, but lasting changes. Birth card spread of Amy Winehouse Birth card spread of Lana del Rey A very important planet in our 10 subjects' charts is the Moon, since it's the karaka (producer) of Music itself. The Moon card is obviously the same for all, since we're studying the same birth card- so it's a good, solid King of Spades. King of Spades is one of the 3 fixed cards that don't change positions in quadrations and point to ever-lasting things. Now let's look at where the Moon planet is placed for these 10 subjects of our study. This placement has less of a clear majority as the 10th cusp card had, with Ace of Clubs showing up 6 times. Out of 10 spreads, the Moon is 3 times in the 10 of Spades - the card of mastering the Self, or if you know Tarot, think of it as the Magician. It gets more important since the birth card is also a 10, and it's the Venus card of entertainment. Jim Morrison, Diana Ross and Justin Bieber have this placement. Birth card spread of Jim Morrison Jim Morrison had his Moon energized in Taurus (the Venus card). His Venus planet is with the 10th cusp in the Mars card, the 3 of Hearts. Not a happy placement for Venus, which shows his tumultuous love life, but on the other hand this has been a source of inspiration for his writings, and also several of his ex girlfriends wrote essays or books about their relationship. So there you go :) The other Moon placements are Queen of Clubs, twice, for Kesha and Nana Mouskouri, and Ace of Clubs, also twice, for Madonna and Gallo Nunzio. 5 of Clubs, King of Spades and 8 of Diamonds get one placement each. Notice how none of these 10 singers has their Moon in the 3 of Hearts card. I just want to stop for a moment and say a few words about Nana Mouskouri who had her Moon in the multi-capable Queen of Clubs. Nana was an unusual presence on the international scene when she first came out, with her big trademark glasses and her songs in Greek, which she prefaced in English before the performance. She went on to have a career where she released a total of 200 albums in 10 different languages, then in her later years she was elected as an deputy for her country in the European Parliament from 1994 to 1999. Another thing I looked at was to see where most Lagna (Ascendants) fall. Four of them are in the Ace of Clubs Mercury card, two in the 3 of Hearts, while the rest of the cards get one each. The Virgo rising poster-girl Nana Mouskouri, in a photo from 1966 Since the Sun is the planet that makes one a singer, I was curious where it was in these musicians' birth spreads. Four of them have it in the Queen of Clubs, two in the 3 of Hearts (Diana Ross and Gallo Nunzio), two in the Ace of Clubs, one on the 10 of Spades and only one (Madonna) in the Sun card of 8 of Diamonds. Then it's nice to see which of these singers were what Jaimini calls Sri Mantahas - wealthy and glorious and satisfied with their lives, and in which card the Sri Mantaha placement is. Nana Mouskouri is a Sri Mantaha, with that placement in the Queen of Clubs Jupiter card- remember all her accomplishments? Here's one more fun fact about her: in 2010, after having long been withdrawn from politics but when her country was undergoing financial crisis, she chose to forego her pension in order to help her country. Another Sri Mantaha is the Queen of Pop, Madonna. The planets making her a Sri Mantaha- Moon and Mercury- are in her Mercury card. Donny Osmond is a Sri Mantaha from his 10 of Spades. With Justin Bieber it's tricky, because if his time is a few minutes off and the Lagna changes to Sagittarius, he becomes a Sri Mantaha from the 10 of Spades card as well. Diana Ross has a beautiful Venus in Pisces (so in the Queen of Clubs) in her 11th from her Lagna Pada, thus being the glorious, wealthy person that she is, and content with her achievements. Birth card spread of Diana Ross OK, Diana Ross has her Sun, Ascendant cusp and Mercury in the three of Hearts Mars card. That is a good card, because Mars is naturally a 3, so a 3 on a 3 will help her overcome hindrances to her emotional life. With those self factors on a Hearts card, she would naturally be more preoccupied with relating with her family. Even though she divorced her second husband, she still remained very close to her three step-children (and she has five other children of her own). A red three is a feminine manifestation of the Mars energy, similar to the Temperance card in the Tarot deck. The 3 of Hearts is also the affair card, and although she had numerous relationships, she managed to stay on good terms with her exes.
This concludes my longer-than-expected post, until next time, I'll leave you with a picture of the heartsy and glamorous 10 of Clubs Sri Mantaha Diana Ross :)
